The Florida Manatee

The Florida manatees are endangered large, gray aquatic mammels found in Florida's waterways. The Florida manatee lives in brackish, salt and freshwater coastal areas around Florida.

The concession stand offers great food and drink after you have explored the Habitat Areas of the 17 acre park. We have plenty of space for parties and if you are looking for a unique way to get some folks together we are more than happy to help! We have group rates for parties over 10 people. This is a great oppurtunity for scout groups, family reunions, corprate groups, school feild trips and birthday parties everyone will remember for years to come!   Our gift shop offers friendly smiles and souvenirs to take home.  And our kayak and Canoe rentals offer a unique and memorable experence of the nature here in Southwest Florida.  And You may even be lucky enough to have a "gentle giant" swimming beside you as you are paddling!!!!!

 

 

Daily Manatee Status

Please feel free to check here daily for the manatee status.

Manatees generally visit the park November thru March. The Florida manatees live along the coast of Florida and generally visit the park when the gulf temperatures dip below 68 degrees. Manatee Park is a non-captive refuge, therefore they are free to come and go as they please.
